Lightweight Overhead Cranes
scale250 – 2,000 kg capacityOur flagship system — aluminum bridge cranes that cover an entire work area while staying light enough to position by hand. Installed on existing structures, no civil works required.
Configurations
One system, configured to your plant
Every bay is different. The GVL system is built from modular aluminum profiles, so it adapts to your layout — from a single running track to a full elevated double-girder bridge. These are the most common configurations; layouts are engineered to your span, height and load.

Straight Monorail
Single running track for point-to-point lifting along one fixed line.

Curved Monorail
Curved track that routes loads around cells, columns or obstacles.

Twin-Rail Monorail
Two parallel rails for wider spans or heavier single-axis handling.

Single-Bridge Crane
One bridge spanning the bay — full work-area coverage, standard duty.

Single-Bridge — Low Headroom
Compact single-bridge design for bays with limited overhead clearance.

Double-Bridge Crane
Two bridges for higher capacity and greater throughput.

Double-Bridge — Low Headroom
Compact double-bridge design for higher capacity in low-clearance bays.

Telescopic Bridge
Extendable bridge that adjusts its span to cover variable bay widths.
Overview
Full-area coverage, minimal effort
GVL overhead cranes combine a bridge that travels the length of the bay with a trolley that spans its width — giving operators lifting coverage across the entire work area rather than a single fixed point. Available in single- and double-bridge configurations to match your throughput.
Because the structure is aluminum, the whole system is dramatically lighter than steel equivalents. That means lower rolling resistance, effortless manual positioning, and installation on existing building structures — no reinforced foundations, no extended downtime.
Key benefits
Why plants choose GVL
Low deadweight
Aluminum construction cuts system weight and rolling resistance for effortless movement.
Single & double bridge
Configure for standard coverage or high-throughput bays with dual bridges.
Full-area coverage
Lift anywhere in the work zone — not just at one fixed pick point.
Ergonomic handling
Light enough to guide loads by hand, reducing operator strain and cycle time.
No civil works
Mounts to existing structures and is commissioned in days, not weeks.
Modular & expandable
Extend coverage or add bridges as production grows — no rip-and-replace.
Complete systems
We also supply the support structure
Not every building can carry an overhead crane — and some work areas have nothing to mount to at all. When that's the case, ALIUM supplies the support structure as part of the system: freestanding columns and portal frames engineered to carry the runway without relying on the existing building.
- check_circleFreestanding columns and portal frames — no dependence on the building structure
- check_circleEngineered to your span, height and load requirements
- check_circleA complete, single-source solution: runway, crane and structure together
